This web site was created by Ceri & Lenny Balston to celebrate my 70th birthday.

They introduced it to me at a family party and I was most surprised and much moved by the idea and all the work they had put in.

I have read the memories with delight and have to admit that several contributors' memories are far better than mine. It was really good to be reminded of events that had receded to the depths of my (shrinking) brain.

I have made no changes to the content, except to correct a few dates and the occasional spelling mistake, and I am really grateful to everyone who took the time to send in their memories and photographs.
