Penarth Town's Trojan?

--- by Tony de Claire ---
Aerial view of Penarth - 5th October 1983

Sorry if my input is relatively short, but David was a year ahead of me at Penarth Grammar.

'My memory is probably suspect, but I believe your father was in Windsor house in Grammar school, and (outside that rugby playing bastion) was a very determined soccer centre foward. Was it for a few games with Penarth Trojans or Penarth Town?'

Happy birthday David, and many more of them

Cheers, Tony de Claire

P.S. Sorry, no specific pictures other than he stands between K. Williams and R. Davies (?) in the 1958 Penarth County Grammar School for Boys collective school photo.

Your memory is pretty good Tony. Yes, I was in Windsor and it was Penarth Town I enjoyed playing for, down on Cogan Recreation Ground. I played regularly in the 2nd XI but did get 3 games for the Firsts in the South Wales Amateur League, even scoring a goal at Caerphilly. Happy days!
