A Welcoming Neighbour

Moving to Stratford-sub-Castle, Dec 12th 1988.
David was the first person who spoke to us here in Stratford. It happened like this....On the day of our move from Alresford, we (and a friend who had volunteered to help us) worked hard at unpacking the boxes from about 11 am till 5pm or even beyond. We had coffee in plenty and sandwiches but by early evening we were very hungry. So we decided to go and find something to eat at a local Hostelry. As we came out of our front door into the darkness, a shadowy figure with a dog called Bracken was passing. He said Good Evening and introduced himself and wished us Good Luck in our new abode. That was David. We realised from his accent, that he too came from the same country as us, Wales. We later met Heather (and the family) and they have been very good friends and neighbours to us all these years - and long may it be.
Happy Birthday David, have a great day.
Joy & David James
PS. We always know when David is going to so some serious work outside...on come the Blue Overalls!!!
